10 Promising sectors in Hamilton’s Labor Market

Are your students wondering where the jobs will be in the next few years and which sectors have promising prospects to creat jobs in Hamilton?

The Hamilton Training Advisory Board (HTAB) recently released a guide highlighting the 10 promising sectors in Hamilton’s labor market. According to the report, ‘certain job sectors continue to grow, for three reasons: a steady population increase, an aging workforce, and the fact that jobs in Hamilton are no longer mainly industrial but spread across 16 subsectors.’

Here are the 10 promising sectors

  • Administrative and support services
  • Construction: specialty Trade Contactors
  • Educational services
  • Ambulatory Healthcare Services
  • Hospitals
  • Nursing and Residential Care Services
  • Management of Companies and Enterprises
  • Religious, Grant-Making, Civic, Professional and Similar Organizations
  • Retail Trade: Furniture and Home Furnishing Stores, Food and Beverage Stores, General
  • Merchandise Stores
  • Warehousing and Storage
