Hamilton Excellence in Teaching Awards (HETA)

IEC has created the Hamilton Excellence in Teaching Awards (HETA) to honour exemplary teachers in our community and provide those inspirational teachers with recognition.

The value of recognition awards for exceptional teachers is undisputed. Award and recognition programs are important for improving classroom teaching, teacher satisfaction, and retention of outstanding new teachers, and consequently improved student learning outcomes.

Hamilton Employer Champion Awards (HECA)

The IEC Hamilton Employer Champion Awards (HECA) were created to recognize Hamilton employers who have shown outstanding commitment to providing meaningful work experience for students in our community through any of the following:

Job Shadowing
School-Work Transition Programs
Career Talks/Speakers Bureau
Workplace Tours
Cooperative Education/Internships
Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program
Specialist High Skills Major
Work experience

We believe that those businesses that freely give their time and provide our students with extraordinary experiential work opportunities ought to be publically recognized and thanked.
